A happy terraced campsite on the Costa Brava
A gem on the Costa Brava with splendid views of the Mediterranean. There is wonderful swimming here, as Camping Internacional de Calonge has two swimming pools and is located close to a sandy beach. This is probably one of the best campsites for sports activities in the area. There is great mountain biking here, or if it’s an adventure you want, go kayaking on the sea! It’s one big party at this Spanish campsite with a great variety of entertainment. There is Flamenco dancing with cover acts of Michael Jackson later on.
Views of the Costa Brava
You have wonderful views across Palamós Bay from your shaded pitch under the fir trees. This terraced campsite is actually located on a hillside. The Mediterranean Sea is just 200 metres from the campsite, so you can walk there in your flip-flops! Can you imagine standing with your toes in the sand enjoying the cool sea breeze? If you go a bit further south you will come to the lovely resort of Platja d’Aro, where there is plenty to experience.
Carefree swimming
What could be better than a carefree dip in the sea on a hot Spanish summer’s day? The beach has a blue flag, which means the water is super-clean and the beach is well maintained. If you prefer to swim in a pool, Camping Internacional de Calonge has two of them. One of them is great for splashing around, with inflatables for the children, while the other is perfect for swimming a few lengths undisturbed.
Sports programme
This campsite is renowned as being one of the best in the surrounding area when it comes to sports activities. For a start, it has a field for football and basketball, and you can also take professional tennis lessons. Stretch out in a yoga lesson or with Pilates, or discover the magic of the sea with a diving or snorkelling course, which are available all year. If you prefer to keep your head above water, choose the open sea with the kayaking course, or explore the rugged countryside on your mountain bike.
From circus to cover bands
The children will be delighted by Tendy the mascot. Fun workshops and games are held in this happy snail’s fun club. Amusing games and exciting competitions are organised for all ages. There is a great show from the circus, and you can take to the dance floor with the best cover bands. And if all that partying gives you an appetite, you can enjoy a paella together in the restaurant.
Cities, reserves and water parks
Camping Internacional de Calonge is the perfect base for trips out to Catalonia’s loveliest cities, such as Gerona or Figueres, birthplace of the artist Salvador Dalí. Barcelona is an hour’s drive away, but it’s well worth the effort. Nature lovers will certainly want to see the Parc Natural del Montgrí where you will find the unusual Medes Islands and see many endangered land and sea species. AND the holiday will become unforgettable by visiting the large Aquadiver Parc. You’ll love the amazing slides in this wonderful water park!
Sea fishing
Always wanted to fish in the sea? You can sail on the sea in a genuine fishing boat from Palamós. The fishermen from Tela Marinera will teach you and the children about everything that swims in the sea, but will also show you how to catch them. Who knows what types you will find on your hook!
